Spring Swap Meet

At High Desert Harley-Davidson/Buell

It was there annual spring swap meet. There was food,breakfast was served by the HOG Chapter and Idaho Pizza will be serving up pizza, burgers and brats. Live music, beer garden and tons of vendors along with a ride in bike show take.... Check It Out

HARLEY-DAVIDSON MUSEUM ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING DATE

MILWAUKEE (May 6, 2008) - Nearly 105 years in the making, the Harley-Davidson Museum, located near downtown Milwaukee, will open its doors to the public on Saturday, July 12. Restoring a 1907 Armac Motorcycle

In 1981, I was visiting a friend in Maryland, he enjoyed old cars and bikes. He was talking about a guy who had old bikes, so we went to visit him. He had all the typical old bikes, Harleys, Indians, Excelsiors, etc., but in the corner, I saw a big box full of parts to a bike. It was very old, and what appealed to me, the gas tank was part of the frame. I had been building drag bike frames that also had the gas tank as part of the frame. AEE Choppers Preview

   For all the old time chopper gang out there, a series of stories about "AEE Choppers" is in the works. Jim Clark, one of the people present when AEE was formed and helped to create and run their magazines, and myself, who designed new products, built most of the custom bikes and was general manager, are working on stories about "AEE Choppers". We will take AEE from 1967, when it was started literally by accident, and show how they grew into an industry leader at that time, eventually closing in 1975.

   Jim and I were working on ideas and outlines, so I put together a list of all the custom bikes AEE built in its almost nine years. This gave us an idea. I have enclosed a list of those bikes, and would like to propose a challenge to all who read this. Let's try to find as many of those bikes as possible, show what they are like now and who has them. If anyone has any info about any AEE Custom bikes, please contact Jack@hotrodhotlineBIKES.com with your info.

   Good hunting and I hope we have some success. It would be great to create stories about some of those bikes and follow through to today. We will have photos of these bikes in future articles.
