Entering high school, Taber started auto mechanics and began developing his skills as an overall mechanic and fix-it man with everything he could get his hands on. His skills were refined by learning a lot from his auto mechanics teacher Ed Collins. At the beginning of his senior year in high school Taber finally got what he wanted. He purchased a 1986 stock Harley Davidson Sportster. It was a basic sportster with the stock blue paint job and one of many that can be seen all over the roads today. That bike was Taber’s first bike but wouldn’t be his last. Trent just months later picked up his first bike, also a sportster. These boys were starting a life long addiction for the love of motorcycles.

If you want to define a love for motorcycles at a young age then Taber Nash, Owner of Nash Motorcycle Company in Vancouver, WA is a perfect example. Growing up all over the United States Taber would see bikes and think about how he couldn’t wait to get one. Taber started saving at a young age to be able to purchase a bike. For those of you that haven’t heard of Nash Motorcycle Company, lets just say you’re missing out. Starting out in 2003 in a small shop located behind Goodwill in Vancouver is where it began. The shop started with three brothers and their love for motorcycles. All of them couldn’t wait to start a shop when the time came, and after Taber and Trent received a little education at MMI and Teddy’s welding skills were refined in welding classes, mixed with everything they had done growing up they knew the time had come. Trent did most the office aspects of the shop as well as helping out in the shop whenever needed. Teddy handled most of the custom metal fabrication such as tanks, fenders, and any welding. Taber uses his mechanic skills and overall imagination to construct motorcycle masterpieces. The shop started off as being everything you would need in a shop, custom builds, repairs, parts, fabrication, anything you needed for your motorcycle. As the shop began to grow so did a need for space and help. Moving to the heart of Vancouver into a new/old shop that was built in the 50’s, the three brothers stopped most of the repair work and concentrated on their one of a kind custom parts and bike builds. Taber’s wife Jenna is now helping out in the office and an eager high school kid named Austin was hired on to help with the handlebars as well as any other tasks Taber needed him for. The shop has since grown immensely and now travels all over the US to shows and expos to expose their talent.

Other parts include forward controls, drag bars, cigar bars, slugger and cigar pegs, slugger risers, cigar kicker pedal and creepster fill cap.

The shops bikes are definitely unique and have there own style to them, concentrating on old style bikes with new and old technology that can be ridden to the max. Taber with NMC says “We build a bike that is durable and can be ridden and enjoyed, as well as looked at with awe by people when cruising down the road.” Nash bikes are one of a kind and often have many custom parts never seen before. Taber says, “A lot of the time when I’m building a bike I do something not knowing if it’s really going to pan out in the end. I like to experiment and do something different with our bikes. If I had to describe the difficulty of building a Nash bike I would have to say that is it. I like to go by trial and error, how else are we ever going to come up with something new in the industry.” Just looking at their website http://www.nashmotorcycle.com/ you can see what I mean when I say they have their own style. If you ask me these boys at Nash are making some amazing bikes and are not only the present time bike builders they are the future.
