Autorama 2007 – Bikes
The world of custom bikes has really exploded into a wide diversity of styles and content. Having only been on the fringe of bike culture the last 25 years or so, it is eye opening to see how much it has changed, and the development of so many unique styles. Even then one would be hard pressed to pick one best, because there are so many neat looking designs. Joe Charron won the Grand Master Motorcycle Builder award that included a great trophy, $3,000 cash, a jacket, and other swag. The fun of the various new and historical styles all in the same area could certainly pump you up to get back into bikes again, if you weren’t already. The popularity of the cable TV shows has certainly helped, and has added steam to the custom painting/pinstriping arts and custom metal shaping. Pictures are compliments of John Sanderson.
